Tournament update - Pacific Island Gathering Chicago, IL - August 15, 2010 - Mark Basel, Federico Malibago and Frankie Smith made the trip to Chicago this year and once again took home some hardware. Federico and Frankie took first place this year in their divisions. Frankie took first place in the Espada e Daga (sword and knife) and Federico took first place in point knife. Mark and Federico took second in both the Espada e Daga and point knife. Mark conceded 3rd to Frankie in continous sword so our schools didn't have to fight each other and Federico also grabbed 3rd place in that category. It was a great tournament and our team represented well against some of the best fighters in the country! Great Job! Queen City Laban Laro Tournament in Buffalo, NY - May 8th, 2010 - Club members Mark Basel and Federico Malibago made the long trip and brought home some hardware. Congratulations to Federico for taking first place in Advanced/Black Belt Sword fighting! Federico also took 4th in the point stick and continuous stick. Mark brought home 3rd in both the sword and continuous stick comps and a 4th in the point stick.
